If anything, the limit on soul reaping needs to be adjusted; I can accept that no limitation at all won't happen, but 3/15 is bad - you can gain the energy in very rapid succession and then you have to wait like 10 seconds. Once per 5 seconds would help spread things out a bit more and would give the same effect...
I'd also like to see hexes be able to target spirits...

I would really strangle people fiddling around with Spiteful Spirit!
But it is true, curse necros are almost elite-locked into SS.
Necros work very well, but they could use some love for GW2. Being so godlike in PvE and getting reduced to the soul reaping abuser in many PvP arenas is not nice. Necros are almost the opposite of Mesmers, good in PvP, troubled in PvE

Reverting to 1/5 for Soul Reaping would be the worst thing ever.

The first 15 seconds of a fight almost nothing dies, the last 5 everything does(including Olias).
I'd rather get 3 hits out of that than only 1.
@ OP
SS is used too much, it's been nerfed, buffed and nerfed again; nothing changed how much it is used, so changing it would be pretty much futile.
(although, after the first nerf, I stopped seeing it in RA)
I'd like to see [skill=text]Cultist's Fervor[/skill] changed so there is a use for it, that doesn't include a bad blood spike build.
Instead of the sac, the health gain form healing and health stealing is halved or something.
Making it kinda like [skill=text]Healer's Covenant[/skill] but with more energy gain, but a recharge that is longer than the duration.

Spiteful Spirit works exactly the same now as when the skill was first introduced.

SS was temporarily changed to 10e after SR got a crappy change. It was reverted after it was fixed a little.
I want SS to get the same buff that IP/Empathy got - increased damage, decreased duration.

Interesting suggestion, might make it more viable for PvP outside of AB's,
But with GW1 getting old, GW2 being announced... I sometimes think they should not balance and screw around so much anymore at all. It would only annoy most people, even if the change would make sense.
I do not want or need that either.

Why do people not think SS is viable in PvP, or needs to be more viable?

Because many people who post here have no idea what they're talking about.

The only time I can POSSIBLY see SS viable in PVP is during an AB match when ur fighting an army of Minions. And even then its pushing it seeing as they all have low hp....

I'd hope that some of you would notice the anti-physical capability of Spiteful Spirit? Throw it on a warrior with Frenzy and watch him do 60-70 damage to himself per action, or just anything that attacks or does anything often for that matter.
Have you people never faced OR ran hex builds in higher tiers of PvP? Spiteful Spirit is a staple choice as an elite in necro hex builds because it's amazing.
And before we talk about hex removal, cover hexes.

Yah most warriors I see stop attacking at that instance.

I don't really see any use in this skill.... your team is going to probably have a monk that removes it anyway....

Yah um there are REALLY high hex removal skills. Like that monk one that removes all necro hexes.

You've stopped a warrior attacking, is that not useful?
It sees a lot of play in builds with a lot of hexes, so therefore hex stacks become common and depending on the team's hex removal it can become a problem, they also carry skills to disable the hex removal.
Hexes can still outplay hex removal, and if you're talking about [skill]Convert Hexes[/skill] or [skill]Purge Signet[/skill] the costs and recharges are fairly expensive and from what I've seen when playing, convert has only been on support characters.

If your knowledge of PvP is limited to AB don't act as if you know what you're talking about. The SS Necro has always found itself in many GvG and Tombs builds. Maybe not so much anymore, in GvG, but it's still present in tombs hex builds. But even if you want to talk about AB, SS totally destroys 90% of the bad melee players in AB as well as a majority of the NPC shrines.
Also, calling a hex bad because it can be removed is stupid. I can remember a game where [Honk] placed SS perfectly so that it almost instantly led to a party wipe and, consequently, victory.

Corrupt Enchantment > SS in PvP.
Faintheartedness/Price/Reckless (maybe even Insidious/Grasping Earth/WardaMelee etc.) are more then enough hate. On bars like this, SS is not necessary, and Corrupt will give you more versatilty and ability to pressure. Keep you're SS in PvE.
Anyway Spiteful Spirit, Corrupt Enchantment and the Flesh Golem are probably the most used elites. I think the Flesh Golem could use a buff(give it scythe property or something - hitting up to 3 foes or increased attack speed) But I don't care about it really.

8ish out of 1mil people know how to use it right. Congrats.
And no, I'm not limited to AB. I've only seen SS in AB once,
In RA ive only seen it once.
In TA i've never seen it.
